@Alonso_GD So if Hamas were to develop a massive missile/drone and launch it at the center of Tel Aviv, even if Israel saw it happening, and knew it would kill 1000s of civilians, you're saying by "int'l law" it would be illegal for Israel to strike the persons launching the rocket?

Something I missed when I first watched the video two days ago: they added English subtitles for everything except the very last part, where a member of the local security team says: “The police have already come across you here, right, buddy? And what did they tell you? That you’re not allowed to be here, right? It’s a closed military zone. Right? You just don’t give a fuck about anyone, do you?” Funny how that’s precisely the segment they chose not to translate into English. Just an innocent coincidence, I’m sure.

The most remarkable thing about this footage is that it completely debunks the whole "detainment" narrative. His body camera shows that nobody was "detained" - they were simply prevented from entering a closed military area, which he had previously been warned he could not

The IDF is lying about the detention of Rep. Khanna. I was on the ground with him that day, and my body camera captured us being detained by both settlers and Israeli soldiers. The IDF did not disperse the violent settlers, as they claim. They explicitly sided with them.

If your account is accurate, full transparency should only strengthen your credibility. These aren’t partisan questions. They’re the questions any member of Congress should be prepared to answer after making serious public allegations involving a foreign government. Transparency shouldn’t require this many questions.

Rep. Ro Khanna was blocked on a road near Khirbet Zanuta on Wednesday. That happened, a NYT photographer saw it, and if the armed men who did it broke the law, prosecute them. Now the rest of the story. The IDF says its troops and police dispersed the civilians and let his vehicles drive on. His own aide says the group was released when officers arrived. Yet the tweet claims the IDF "sided with the settlers and continued our detention." Both cannot be true. The "M4 machine guns": the M4 is a carbine, and it is precisely the rifle the IDF issues to civilian rapid-response squads in the area. Nobody, including Khanna, has established whether these were "hoodlums" or local security members reacting to an unidentified convoy that no one knew was coming. Because no one did know. Israeli security officials confirm the congressman never coordinated the visit, which is why he had no protection. He toured Area C with programming run exclusively by Palestinian hosts, by his own description, to get an "unfiltered" view. Unfiltered also means unverified. And the timing tells its own story. Incident Wednesday. Tweet Saturday, minutes behind a New York Times article, from a politician who told Reuters this trip made him "more resolved" to run for president in 2028, and who declared anyone unwilling to use the words genocide and apartheid "morally compromised" before he ever got in the van. An hour on a blocked road is not Israel's finest moment, and settler violence, including Saturday's attack on a CNN crew near Sinjil where four suspects were arrested, deserves condemnation and prosecution. But a presidential launch video dressed up as a human rights report deserves scrutiny too. Congressman, our studio in Jerusalem is open. Behold just what a fraud @bartov_omer is. @noam_dworman quotes Bartov’s own words saying that Germany had to be destroyed in order to defeat Hitler. Bartov then says that the Allies did not commit a war crime — despite killing 600K German civilians — because after the war they occupied Germany and rebuilt it. This is just an insane argument. He assesses Allied actions as moral in hindsight, but he confidently judges Israel’s actions as genocidal before the war is over! So if Israel helps rebuild Gaza after Hamas is destroyed, will he just declare mea culpa?? And of course he vehemently denies that Bibi — unlike Churchill and Roosevelt — differentiates between combatants and civilians, but @noam_dworman brings the goods. Someone whose sudden global spotlight hinges on what Bibi did or did not say should know exactly what Bibi did or did not say. The entire anti-Israel narrative is built on lies and distortions. I do not exaggerate when I say I have yet to see one single person who believes the claim of genocide in Gaza who doesn’t turn out to be dishonest or woefully ignorant of basic facts.
