It continues because Russia invaded Ukraine and, every day, makes a conscious choice to keep waging war. If they all go home, we won't follow, you know? ​If he means that without U.S. help, especially in the beginning, much more Ukrainian territory would have been occupied and turned into one gigantic Bucha, then yes, he's probably right. But occupation doesn't end war, it merely masks war crimes and silences the victims.

This Trump tweet is a work of art and needs to be kept for posterity. It turns out that the US has destroyed 100% of Iran’s military capability. Yet, to combat a military with no capability he is left pleading with allies he has regularly insulted to save him in the Gulf.

In his 5 years as president, Trump has never supported democracy promotion abroad. He's not even a champion of that objective at home. So yes, some of us are a little skeptical about his newfound passion for liberty and freedom for Iranians. But I'm keeping an open mind.

I just listened to the James Talarico interview. Never would’ve heard it otherwise without the FCC chaos. These were his very last words: “They want us talking about furries and bathrooms so we don’t realize that they are picking our pockets, that they are closing our schools, they are gutting our healthcare, and they are raising taxes on all of us while they cut taxes for their billionaire donors. The culture wars are a smoke screen because the real fight in this country is not left versus right; it’s top versus bottom.” Again, the Republicans are going to have to do a whole lot better than “Vote for us because we’re not the left.”

This is a big mistake to allow the aggressor to take something. It was a big mistake at the very beginning, starting with 2014. And even before that, during the attack and occupation of parts of Georgia. And even before that, when Chechnya was occupied, with total destruction and one million casualties – both killed and wounded. Many mistakes were made. I never did it and that's why I don’t feel that it's the right way. My advice to everybody – don’t do that with Putin. Otherwise, there will be a first step, then in five years, he will rebuild his military, increase the number of soldiers, his army will be well trained. Because he has lost a lot of well-trained people. He is losing 30–35 thousand people per month now. Can you imagine this in the 21st century? Can you imagine – he’s losing 35,000 each month? I'm not sure that he knows about it.

I think the idea is to get everyone to hate us so that we can complain that we are the victims.

It’s cold indifference dressed up in nice words about “keeping sport apolitical.” The Olympics love to talk about values, respect, and humanity. But the moment an athlete shows the faces of their fallen colleagues — suddenly there are bans. Brand advertising — allowed. Million-dollar sponsorships — allowed. Marketing everywhere — allowed. Remembering the dead — forbidden. This doesn’t look like protecting the rules. It looks like being afraid to face reality. Athletes aren’t emotionless machines with no history and no pain. And if honoring the fallen is labeled propaganda, then the problem isn’t the helmet. The problem is the moral blindness of the people making those decisions.
