5) This is an interesting outcome because, in microbiotas, commensalism can be associated to cross-feeding and amensalism to poisoning by toxins, two types of interactions that are very common between microbes and are known to help stabilise diverse ecological communities.
4) We have found robust evidence that the inferred matrices must be sparse. This characteristic is associated with the prevalence of amensalism and commensalism relationships within the community.
