@BronwynHarman ...greater education required on importance of rehab for operative or non-op management. A lot of my time in clinic spent discussing this. Strength, proprio, healthy body weight etc etc are the “insurance policies” for delaying/avoiding arthroplasty.
@PhysioNZ Have I misinterpreted what Level 3 means for Auckland private practice? We have had to close our clinic and tell all clients to organize Telehealth or wait to Level 2. Please clarify or we are going to have some very mixed messaging.
@drcraigharrison Of note... some of my biggest mistakes (and therefore best lessons) have been through a failure to engage the team “with” change. As my mentor said... “Do you want to spend time or energy before or after the decision? The latter is more likely to involve putting out fires.”
@drcraigharrison TIME. Everyone processes change at a different rate. In advance of a collaborative brainstorming session I have talked to each team member or thrown some ideas out for them to “percolate” on. Then made it clear I wanted them to share in the group setting.
@drcraigharrison Unfortunately some of the recent goings-on have made this impossible given the sheer speed at which decisions had to be made. An ideal scenario allows percolation time. It helps that it’s a coffee analogy!!

@grantsnz Good call. The public need to understand the mental, physical, emotional, economic impacts of prolonged lockdown. Unemployment strongly associated w/ increased total mortality, domestic violence, suicide and more. Tough but important conversation.
