Despicable. As families grieve, Trump should be leading, not lying. We put safety first, drove down close calls, grew Air Traffic Control, and had zero commercial airline crash fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch. President Trump now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.

America could wake up on Wednesday with all three branches of our government — the — Executive, Legislative, and Judicial — Trumpist. With this clip, take five minutes to ponder Germany’s memorials and the price that nation paid for being bamboozled by a bombastic autocrat. Listen to the heartfelt message of my German tour guides, for whom these memorials are like ghosts of mistakes made and evils allowed… ghosts that haunt their society still. These are the same guides who clink glasses in the beer halls and yodel from the hilltops with our American tour members. They admire America. They love America. And they are worried for America. If we vote for fascism, it’ll likely be won by one or two percent (or even less)…and perhaps just a few stadiums of people will tip the balance. And history has taught my European friends that the cost of a course correction is infinitely more heartbreaking after a wannabe dictator wins an election than before. We are all participants, we are all responsible, and we will all bear the consequences of our collective choice.

MORE/ This is why DOJ only has a few days left to publicly launch a criminal investigation in Elon Musk. If it waits to do so until after the election, there will be claims that the investigation was in response to the election results rather than a valid enforcement of the law.

One thing we've learned from studying genocides is that language like this often precedes the mass killing. Otherize, dehumanize, and fearmonger about the target group. This is well documented in Rwanda in 90s and in the 1930s Nazi regime. This is historical fact, not hyperbole.

Trump doesn't really want to be President. What he wants, is unlimited wealth, ability to grift, immunity, adoration, no accountability for crimes, and above all, legitimization of his self-professed grandiosity, all of which the presidency will give him. He does, however, need the presidency, at this point in time. The alternative for him, is prison or flight. All these discussions the press reports on every day, about what Trump says, and what he'll do - they're not properly contextualized. He himself would be golfing and schmoozing and bloviating. It's the people he'd put in place and the ideologies he'd empower, that would endanger the American experiment. He's the emissary ... the parasite ... the carrier.
