It’s showing complete responses even after patients have had their immune systems obliterated with other horrendous therapies. The “Right to Try” act of 2018 passed under the @realDonaldTrump administration needs to be amended for front line therapy, not after patients have already been barbarically burned, radiated, and had their immune system destroyed. Pickleball needs a rebrand. A big one. For those of us inside the sport, we understand the true nature of it. We get that it requires a ton of athleticism, quick reactions, strength, agility, and a whole host of other skills. People on the outside don’t see that. They see a sport their grandparents play and when you bring it up they look at you funny. Most people still see pickleball as a sport for the elderly. Not as a sport for athletes. We have to shift that perspective to showcase what it actually looks like to be good at pickleball but we have to be delicate. Pickleball is so popular because of that low barrier to entry. By making it seem hard or difficult to master, people will be much less open to playing. Here’s how we do it. We have to showcase high level pickleball. But we have to do it differently than what we’re currently doing. All the burden cannot just be on the PPA and MLP. There are a ton of high level amateur pickleball games going on right this second. It’s time to encourage clubs, organizations, and individuals to showcase their skill. This sport is filled with talent. We just have to show the world how much talent there actually is. When we do this, we accomplish two things. First, we capture a younger demographic. When young people see other young people doing something like pickleball, it sparks interest. It creates intrigue and turns those spectators into players. This further accelerates our growth. Second, it encourages current players to create content around pickleball. The world revolves around content. Like it or not, that’s a fact. The more people we have showing off their pickleball journey the more traction we get. Let’s say we’ve got around 100 top creators in the space, what if that number was 1,000. What if it was 10,000. Think about the eyes on the sport. All from people showcasing their talent in something they love. We have to treat pickleball like an industry. Why? Because it is one. It’s an industry that’s at the ground floor and if we position it the right way, it’ll get so big we won’t know what to do with it. Pickleball is in a spot for massive success. We just have to show people why.

The first rule of pickleball is to talk about pickleball. For most of us that’s easy. It’s basically our entire personality. Even so there’s a ton more we can be doing. Pickleball is the opportunity of a generation. This sport is going to create businesses and provide avenues for wealth like we’ve never seen before. The first step in all of this is to talk about the sport. We have to share our passion with the world. If social media isn’t your thing then do it in person. If you don’t like talking to people then write articles about the sport. There are endless possibilities. Capture this moment in history and take advantage of all that pickleball has to offer. This is the greatest sport in the world. I know it and you know it. Go tell someone who doesn’t.
