@favelaoverlord You realize this is strictly domestic messaging aimed at a tv-audience? Would you expect adversaries to publicly broadcast their real strategic considerations in full, on TV? The messaging is itself part of that strategy.

@0x49fa98 The relation of influence is in reality inverse in these cases. The 'influencer' is a soundboard / mirror selected and shaped by the desires of multitudes. This is not to deny that they are still useful vectors of power.

They're not "vaccine passports," they're movement licenses. It's not a vaccine, it's experimental gene therapy. "Lockdown" is at best completely pointless universal medical isolation and at worst ubiquitous public incarceration. Call things what they are, not their euphemisms.

@Soeren_Brandes @davidrkadler His criticism is not directed against immigrants but against the social policy that creates a new underclass with even less economic bargaining power which can subsequently be scapegoated. This is how electorally divisive pseudo-problems are created to uphold the status quo.

@Soeren_Brandes @davidrkadler He talks about the way immigration is used as a social policy to reduce the perception of poverty as a structural problem. Higher share of immigrants yields lower support for redistributive politics. (ftp.iza.org/dp12130.pdf) This is the latent xenophobia that is weaponized.
