"Strangest Midterms" per NYT. Hardly. 469 separately stupid, obscenely $$$, outrageously scandal-dependent, predictably unrepresentative see-saws. #proportionalrepresentation sane number multi-party, multi-winner elections, diverse interests always fairly heard… maybe just 1.

@leedrutman Let sleeping fusion prohibitions, and SCOTUS acquiescence, lie. The value of a reform is NOT necessarly revealed by the ardor of its (past) enemies. Why fight for the "right to cross-nominate," instead of a "right to elect"?

@jacksantucci Of course, someone's "party leakage" is someone else's voter-centric "party flexibility." While fair criticism, it's useful in the US debate about STV to go binary: a system that's not disproportional by design and effect may be reasonably considered proportional.

@JGodStorm Fusion may have a longevity exemption from being a fad like the other non-proprtional reforms, but it doesn't deserve elevation beyond that. If you've got it, use it, but still call it out as winner-take-all that ultimately reinforces, not challemging, two party politics.

@leedrutman Pre-breakup, Yugoslavia's post-Tito collective presidency, with rotating chair, highlights the role of diverse representation in mitigating ethnic violence. If that can be tried with the executive, it's a more than obvious goal for all legislative bodies, including US Congress.

@AndrewYang Then fight for a system that can accommodate them, through #proportionalrepresentation. If not, then your new party is like the scores which came before - hoping to supplant one of the two in what will still be a two party SYSTEM. Oh... and like the scores still to come.
