Think the answer you’re looking for here @ScotlandSalmon is YES. Open-net salmon farms pose significant ecological threats to wild salmon populations. You know it and @scotgov knows it. To frame this any other way is disingenuous and cynically misleading.
Standard industry regs limit seawater cage densities to a maximum of 22 kg/m³ to 25 kg/m³ depending on licence - but most operators average between 15 kg/m³ and 18 kg/m³ @ScotlandSalmon can play the numbers game but in reality, it’s like having 8x 5lb salmon in a hot tub! 🤯☠️
