@davidleary @evernote I dropped Evernote a year ago. Similar story. Many years as a customer, decreased use. Price kept increasing, but value didn't for me. Evernote is hostile to its base. I paid for 2-3 years because I didn't have time to transition. API is limited. Exports are not great. Lock-in.

I signed up years ago for a @Dynatrace demo account to review for a client. I am not permitted to unsubscribe because I am considered a "customer". I receive email every few weeks about incidents. #fail

@lawjolla Lol. I have no love for the Zip drive, but the USR modem was a thing of beauty and wonder compared to my 9600 and 2400…and the 1200…and 300 baud before that! I still have a Newton modem in the closet.

@lawjolla @render @supabase WAN latency for AppServer to DB caused me grief. Even *LAN* latency from AppServer to DB has impact. Testing seems complex w/ FE clients sending requests to BE AppServer, then queries cache/DB. I know tools can do it, but layers to learn. If it ain't broke... ;-)

@twostraws I still have my working original iPhone. I was in Palo Alto when the it was dropped, but waited and bought it from a buddy upgrading to a 3GS. I need to mount it in a shadow frame... but with power so I can turn it on every once in a while. ;-)

@elliott_ep @Experian @Experian_US User-facing security is awful. If you get the SS#, then finding the zip code and "numeric portion" of the persons physical address is all it takes to "verify" -- both easily findable *together* on the public Internet.

Someone is actively hacking my @Experian account, but can't get thru to anyone at @Experian_US to stop it. Recv'd email saying my email/userid has been updated. I did not do it. Replied..but response time ETA is *2 days*. Support phone tree is maddening/not-helpful.

@elliott_ep @Experian @Experian_US RE: new email address -- I setup TransUnion and Equifax using unique email addresses from iCloud. Experian also "provided" daily credit card marketing emails. Unsub didn't work. At least now with the account hack, those emails are no more.🤷‍♂️

@elliott_ep @Experian @Experian_US I actually created TransUnion and Equifax accounts yesterday to enable Freezes. @TransUnion does have free accounts, but I had to call support to get link, and again b/c first signup failed. Both times - human help! service.transunion.com

@experianhelp_us My UID was "[email protected]", but I tried "forgot username" page. Entered BirthDate & SS# - says username sent to a yahoo.com address that is not mine! I have long/unique passwords stored in 1Password. I have an account PIN and Security Q info. How!?!

@elliott_ep @Experian @Experian_US @Experianhelp_us Recv'd reply asking for name, ID, MemberID (info already in orig. email). I replied. Got generic "how to id fraud". Also recv'd DM. I just replied. I hope a human at @Experian @Experian_US @Experianhelp_us will follow up. Video call to show gov't ID/passport could fix!?!

There is an active account compromise in progress @Experian, but "Membership Services" isn't even reading my support request emails. I am powerless to regain control of my account after my email/userid was changed somehow. What steps to take???
