To my friends in the media:
This is a time of high drama, I agree. But while you gossip endlesly about who's in and who's out, you have almost entirely ignored the Public Order Bill that was passed in the Commons this week: the most draconian legislation of the modern era.
@GarrardGraeme@grant_phd @thehistoryguy Whilst the FWW was an epic tragedy, to suggest the British could have remained aloof is a flawed assertion which completely ignored the foundation of British foreign policy in Europe for hundreds of years: not to mention our obligation to Belgium!
@thehistoryguy Or account for the enormous strategic pressures on the generals (U boat campaign, French mutinies) and, in the case of Third Ypres, the horrendous weather.
@TeamKnowhowUK - I ordered a new ASUS laptop which was faulty on arrival. ASUS confirmed the fault. I filled in an online return form but have received no acknowledging emails or texts. I have been on hold via phone and was hung up on, then live chat kicked me out of the queue.
@mattjones2614 Of course he is culpable...if you give very vague, wishy-washy advice, people will push the boundaries as much as possible. Also, the fact the devolved parliament's are not complying with this means it is not even a UK wide rule...
@Independent Not to knock a brother/sister from being called what they want, but the use of a third person pronoun as a first personal pronoun is REALLY confusing to read...there must be an easier noun to get your head around when referring to an individual rather than multiple people...?
