Israel has made it a policy to retaliate against health workers who legally challenge their detention. The case of Dr. Abu Sayifa is just the highest profile one. The retaliation involves torture, beatings, isolation, withholding medical care, detaining relatives, and so on. Her are a few of the known cases: 1) Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya: His Abuse escalated sharply after the Supreme Court appeal filed end of April. After a June hearing he was beaten with batons and a hammer; moved to solitary after the petition was rejected; 21 days solitary in July; fractured ribs from beatings July 27, 2026. His lawyer described him as nearly unrecognizable. 2) Dr. Hassan Khalil Al-Muqayyad: His wife Nadia was explicitly advised by lawyers not to appoint counsel because "this could harm him." She stopped. He has lost 40kg, held 7 months at Sde Teiman, diabetes and BP medication periodically withheld. 3) Dr. Marwan Al-Hams: Over 1,000 hours of interrogation, suffered cardiac arrest requiring defibrillation. His daughter says he is beaten before every lawyer visit with the visit itself is the trigger. 4) Tasneem Al-Hams, Dr. Marwan's daughter: Detained Oct 2025 on her way to work. Interrogators told her outright her imprisonment was to pressure her father; she was seated with him in the interrogation room. 5) Malak Abu Madi: Nursing student, the only woman on the detained-healthcare-worker list. Her mother had already received a death certificate for her before discovering she was actually in custody. Four relatives were executed and burned while handcuffed; a brother is missing. 6) Dr. Adnan Al-Bursh: Died in Ofer Prison April 2024, apparently after severe torture. Cited by Gaza's health ministry as the reason to fear for those still held. 7) Dr. Iyad Al-Rantisi: Died in custody Nov 2023. Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahlout reportedly said an interrogator told him he had killed Al-Rantisi under torture. 8) Dr. Ahmed Al-Kahlout : A coerced "confession" was publicly released by the Israeli military on Dec 19, 2023. Weight down to 55kg; administrative detention renewed repeatedly, most recently another 6 months in June 2026. 9) Dr. Medhat Abu Tabanja: Release paperwork was prepared, then reversed; held six more months without charge. Shot with rubber bullets during a guard raid; face rubbed in sewage. 10) Anees Al-Astal: Scheduled for release under the Oct 13, 2025 ceasefire deal and simply never produced. Beaten four times in a single week. 11) Dr. Nahed Abu Taima: Told he will never be released. Beaten daily, lost 25kg, BP medication withheld, lawyer visits only every six months. Performs surgery on fellow prisoners using plastic fragments and bleach. 12) Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan Mousa: Broken ribs from guard violence, left untreated. Not a single one of these health workers was charged with a crime. They are held as hostages, abused, tortured, sometimes murdered and used as bargaining chips. Their detention is also part of a concentrated effort to destroy the health care system in Gaza so many patients will die untreated.

There are fields of science where such experts are already almost absent or do not get respect they deserve. The science is already for decades corrupted by scientific grants. Otherwise, we would never repeatedly hear "The science is settled", which contradicts the very philosophy of science. The classical paper (of 2005!) by the most cited scientist in the world, John Ionnidis, is called "Why Most Published Research Findings Are False" journals.plos.org/plosmedicine/a… Also look at sciencedaily.com/releases/2025/… Scientific research corruption is a common knowledge. So the stock of checkers is already almost depleted. Furthermore, you are right, we don't refill our reserve of checkers. It is already a tragic state of affairs. Now suppose that the pace of AI advancement is preserved. Then the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI) is obtained by 2028, and in 2 years no one will be able to check AI results in any field of science. In fact, in 2030s no one is even predicted to grasp new theories, notions and the corresponding results. Conclusion. The human science is already corrupted and possibly mortally ill. The AI-alignment idea is that ASI agents will be benevolent and loving humans. Each individual will be reach some kind of abundance. Conditionally call it "a magic wand". No one will know how the wand works and its full abilities, but will be allowed to use it for personal needs. Still the usage of the wand is assumed to be only for the good of the humanity (what even is it?). ASI agents will care to it 🤦
