They just admitted it.
I think some people are just triggered by all the nonsense they have heard and accepted as true throughout their lives. They believe they are victims and the police are racist. They believe, erroneously, that they are oppressed and that the police and white men are their oppressors. So when they have an interaction with police, it triggers their mental illness and it exponentially increases the likelihood that the situation escalates into felonious behavior on their part. If someone becomes belligerent with the police, the police tend to react more defensively because they don't have to wait until their lives are in danger; the whole continuum of force comes into play. As the police react in response to the level of threat, it usually evokes more anger and outrage from the mentally ill criminal, who then increases the bad behavior resulting in the need to stop the threat and secure the situation, and sometimes increase the level of force. In the end, it usually results in an arrest at a bare minimum, and occasionally a serious injury or fatality.
Take the traffic ticket and be on your way. Fight it in court. I can’t understand why people insist on turning non-criminal matters into felonies.
