@Tjonesonthenba For Lauri straight up? Maybe, but there’s no way the Cs are doing that. I don’t want to give up extra cost-controlled assets (picks) we’ll need as the roster gets expensive. I also value the jumbo lineup flexibility Lauri provides; it makes us hard to deal with for most teams.

@AJ3Jazz @HoboJ_ I like Collier’s style as a “changeup” we can throw at teams. The question is if our team IQ is high enough to toggle effectively between primarily playing Hardy’s movement scheme and bursts of Collier’s helio/pressure ball.

@jazzbeargryllz @JakeHatch @BeanOnTheScene1 Key is more critical to all of this working than anyone realizes. He provides ballhandling and playmaking, arguably two of our biggest lineup deficiencies. Eventually trading Lauri remains the most logical path.

@draymottishaw @AJ3Jazz 31% of his shots at Rutgers were 3 pointers versus 44.6% on the Jazz. His shot quality was much better, with fewer contested/forced jumpers. He also showed way more as a connective passer than he ever did at Rutgers. Allow your eval to evolve as the player does. He was 18/19!

@draymottishaw @AJ3Jazz I was (apparently not so) obviously being facetious. You're right that Ace is unlikely to be a primary handler, but his game already evolved/changed markedly in other ways in one NBA season. Plenty of room for DP to do the same and develop primary ballhandler skills.

Ace proved that his rookie year when he played exactly the same as at Rutgers - a midrange maven who forced bad shots and couldn’t/wouldn’t pass at all. Obviously.

@Wiz_Weekly I liked the trade bc WAS gave up so little that WAS wouldn't be hostage over Trae's next contract. Good rate? Great, keep him. Too high? He walks. Instead, it reached "too high" numbers and the team acted like they had no choice but to hold their nose and keep him. Not good.

Trae's contract is for 4 SEASONS(!) at $50M+ per season; that prevents other trades or FA opportunities during any of those seasons w/that salary slot. Also, Fox + contract + SA assets >>> Trae + contract

@jpottingaround Depends on whose cap space info for the Nets is more accurate. Yossi has them at ~$20M of space, while Keith has them at $36M. If Yossi is right, then the Nets can't reach a high enough number for Walker and that RFA path is closed. Either way, CHI is out of the running.

@kbrooks910 @BrysonAkinsNBA I watched the Hawks spend 8 years twisting themselves into pretzels trying to craft a team to compensate for Trae’s D and inability to play off ball. That, coupled with him forcing AJ off ball, makes me dislike this move. But hey, hope the Wizards prove me wrong.
