Recently, I found out that Eve in the Bible wasn’t the first woman God created. Before Eve, there was Lilith as revealed by biblical scholars and ancient texts. She was created from the same dust as Adam, and not from his ribs like Eve. Lilith refused to be beneath Adam, she declared herself his equal, and for that she was casted out. So God created Eve instead. A more agreeable version. The church has largely buried this narrative. But it sits somewhere in ancient Hebrew texts and has never been fully disproven. So the first woman in creation was not removed because she sinned, she was replaced because she refused to submit. Interesting. I wonder what later became of Lilith the outcast.
