Goldman just put the number on it: AI is destroying 25,000 jobs per month and creating 9,000. Net loss: 16,000 jobs every 30 days. But the averages hide the real story. Look at the left chart. Industries with high AI substitution scores (red line) are flatlined since ChatGPT launched. Industries with high augmentation scores (blue line) are up 6%. Same economy, opposite outcomes, depending entirely on whether AI replaces your tasks or amplifies them.
