Maar je stookt wel ff het vuurtje op he. Waarom? Ik lees zoveel klote vergelijkingen tussen de EU en de US die echt nergens op slaan. Mensen krijgen er alleen maar slecht gevoel van en zijn dan geneigd om voor een valse profeet te stemmen zodra er verkiezingen zijn. Werk daar aub ff niet aan mee!

Yeah the US moved their focus on the pacific a long time ago. And I totally understand that. But I hate the fact the US actions could be seen as aggressive if not hostile. For example picking sides with Putin in a terrible war. Trying to annex Greenland. Openly fighting with EU politicians. That is not how friends and allies treat each other. And this has all to do with your representative. But the result might be a good thing because we for once are more united. I see good things happening here. Destinus (drone and rocket builder) is 500m from my house. They are now working around the bureaucracy to build new cruise missiles and important drone technology. I guess that wouldn't have happened under Biden or Obama.

That is nice. I feel that way to but actually the other way around. I have always seen American culture and trends being adopted here. So in that sense I’m worried about the US. But it would be best if we just leave each other alone and focus on our internal systems. Ps your representative and his followers divides us with his actions. That causes all the shit left/right bull shit. Even this conversation we have now. I really hope we become one again but I doubt it because of what you guys voted for.

Haha. Dude. I really don’t understand why US people seem so busy with that shithole of a Europe? I don’t feel any better than an American. But I see an elected president as a representative of the voters. That president wanted to annex Greenland not to long ago. So let the US focus on its own island and don’t try to influence the EU politics. Why do they even bother?

Fascinerend om dit te plaatsen onder zo’n verhaal. Voel je je geroepen? Dit lijkt op pesten man. Je leest schijnbaar genoeg over hem om dit te weten. Hoe erg voor hem, hij heeft kanker. Beetje medeleven zou op z’n plaats zijn. Waarom voeg je niet wat inhoudelijks toe? Alternatief, zeg niks.

Yeah I guess so. We developers are like gate keepers (sometimes annoying to the outside world) that take responsibility for the systems we build. Who is taking the responsibility for systems not build by developers? Today I took an @obsdmd subscription. Not because I could not build sync data myself or even build a note taking app. But… the fact that they take responsibility as a company for my data and maintaining the system. We will end up at companies with developers (again) because it makes no sense to rebuild something, let alone being unresponsible.

Wat is er toch met mensen aan de hand? Waarom moet alles direct in waarheid / onwaarheid, links / rechts, gevaarlijk / veilig etc. geplaatst worden. Lees verschillende perspectieven en vorm je eigen mening. Dat is onderdeel van de democratie. Je kan niet op je luie flikker gaan zitten en denken dat je goed geïnformeerd bent.

I get the feeling we all suffer together from a new psychological phenomenon. Something like "sunk group cost fallacy" in which each individual ends up carrying the perceived cost of the entire group's effort to make something work. Only when the gears shift (opus 4.6 -> gpt 5.5 -> fable) we suddenly see reality. Then the fog settles back in and we find ourselves rationalizing the same compromises all over again.

Omg yeah. Same stupid policies here in The Netherlands. You can’t reach out to some parents of kids. No name, no phone, no nothing. I also think it is because a lack of understanding of the gdpr. Which in my understanding just helps to ask “what purpose does this information have?”, “how long should we store it?”. What is the goal of storing something. The general public just interpreted it as hiding everything.

@tobi I think it fits the mental image of the USA that most outsiders have. Kind of cool but I also understand that Americans find it to confronting to see how the outside world perceives your country.
