@AstroJake Haha, this is the “German way”. It’s still from a time when people barely moved. And tbh, it really makes people consider whether they want to go through the hassle of moving or not. But also means that everyone tends to take great care of their kitchen 😅

@AstroJake So you need to buy/build your own kitchen. Sometimes you can (or are gently forced) to buy the kitchen off the previous tenants.

@AstroJake Basically if you rent an apartment in Germany or Austria, you usually just get that. An empty apartment. There is a room for the kitchen and sockets etc. but nothing else (maybe some tiles). No oven, no stove, no cupboards, no fridge, no sink etc.
