How can you contribute to longevity from another field? We're hosting Breaking into Longevity Biotech with age1 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this Sunday, October 4. Satvik Dasariraju @satvik_93 joins Andrew Brack @BrackLab (ARPA-H), James Peyer @JamesPeyer (Cambrian Bio), Michael Cooney (Bain Capital), and Jack O'Meara @Jack_O_Meara (Aerska). They'll discuss how they entered longevity and what they look for in people joining the field, with our own Sufal Deb @sufaldeb moderating. Stay after the panel to discuss cardiovascular disease and women's health with Nexus member Madison Ueland @madiueland and Aging Initiative president Ezekiel Bajomo @EzekielBajomo. 12–3pm ET. Request to join: luma.com/4bpxw1zf
Many of you have been asking us: "Who is Approved?" "Where is Approved?" and even, sometimes… "Why is Approved?" Rather than let this mystery haunt us any longer, here is our official breakdown of what this podcast covers. Check it out:
Interesting that post-ZEUS, Monte Rosa ($GLUE) emphasizes favorable changes in biomarkers besides hsCRP and IL-6 in their NEK7 molecular glue degrader Phase 1 readout today: “HMGB1, calprotectin, S100A12, and SAA, damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) linked to atherosclerotic plaque progression and instability, and IL-1β, all established key pathogenic drivers of ASCVD, were reduced to levels comparable to normal physiological levels seen in the healthy volunteer population of Phase 1 study”

City Tx in their S-1 become pretty much the first to disclose their receptor-mediated delivery strategy for adipose (and CNS, ocular) siRNA: LRP1 (CD91) Given the crucial role of LRP1 in VLDL/chylomicron clearance and many other functions, it will be essential that this receptor-mediated endocytosis approach does not saturate LRP1 or block its ligands. sec.gov/Archives/edgar…
Can't miss event organized by some absolute legends @gelenbe and stellar speaker lineup poised to give a 360 degree, deeply-researched perspective on the international future of biotech down to the mechanistic level 🏮
To bridge this execution gap, we are hosting The Lantern Summit. Shanghai · Oct 26–27, 2026 🏮 An invitation-only forum bringing Western and Chinese founders, VCs, CRO/CDMO leadership, pharmas, PIs, and IIT operators into the same room. Includes curated 1:1s, a private Deal

Crazy that there’s almost double the INHBE’s than PCSK9’s.
The date Oct4 may or may not be a nod to the transcription factor 😉
luma.com/4bpxw1zf The theme is "breaking into longevity": (1) how early-career folks and leaders in adjacent areas like AI can apply an aging-focused lens to their work and (2) how pharma companies can break into longevity (broader patient populations, trials that intervene earlier in disease course, muscle/bone/joint health, etc.)
Excited to be speaking on a panel on Oct 4th with friends and colleagues @BrackLab @ARPA_H, @Jack_O_Meara, @JamesPeyer, and Mike from @BainCapital. RSVP link in comments - props to @NornGroup for organizing! Stick around after to discuss cardiovascular disease and women's health with @EzekielBajomo and @madiueland.
Did $NVO (today in their capital markets day diabetes presentation) accidentally disclose that they're working on ANGPTL4 siRNA (presumably adipose targeted)? The positioning would likely be in sHTG or ASCVD with T2D as $NVO emphasizes comorbidities of T2D more.
When we started Loyal there was no FDA pathway for a any lifespan extension drug. Today the FDA accepted our third one! LOY-003, our daily pill for helping large dogs live longer (and healthier) lives, has earned RXE efficacy approval.
🏮Announcing the Lantern Summit in Shanghai🏮 In 2025, more new medicines launched first in China than anywhere else on Earth. That has never happened before. Drug development has two simultaneous accelerators: • AI is collapsing design (weeks instead of years). • China is collapsing development (physical iteration speed). Here is why that matters, and what Western biotech is missing: 🧵
How $NAMS PREVAIL readout needs to be to break this streak of high-profile CVOT misses
Great summary, leads one to juxtapose Amgen’s trial designs versus HORIZON. Most explanations circulating point to the 2 OCEAN(a) trials as the critical readouts.
Lp(a)HORIZON is negative. Does this mean the Lp(a) hypothesis is wrong? I don’t think we can conclude that — at least not yet. Before seeing the full data, several explanations deserve consideration: 1. Background therapy matters. In contemporary secondary prevention,
4 - duration of suppressed Lp(a) could be a factor?
1 - mg/dL cutoff for "elevated" Lp(a) was too low maybe 2 - KD % could have been too low (siRNA enough?) 3 - John Kastelein had an interesting argument in the last $NAMS investor day that the patient population's baseline LDL-C was too low and this would pose difficulties in terms of event rate
