HER LAST WORDS: "I'm burning... I'm choking.." Silvia Mirensky (80), was a sister, mother and grandmother who was killed by Hamas in the October 7th terror attack. Silvia, a widow, lived by herself in her home on Kibbutz Ein Hashlosha in southern Israel when Hamas launched its brutal massacre. She sought safety in her safe room — but after hours inside and when it appeared safe — she briefly stepped out for food, according to Times of Israel. It was then that the terrorists tossed an explosive device inside the safe room, igniting her home. Trapped in the burning house, Silvia’s final, heartbreaking words from inside her burning home were: “I am burning; I am choking.” Her body was found the next day. She left behind two sons, and another one she adopted. This is only one of countless heart-shattering stories from Hamas’ massacre. We must not let the world forget.

On this day in 1934, a Czech Jewish boy was born. On the2 Jul 1942, he was deported to Theresienstadt with his parents and on the 18 May 1944 to Auschwitz. It is most probable that he was murdered on arrival. His name was Pavel Popper Please support @AuschwitzMuseum

Cada vez que llega el verano… me sobran horas. Antes esperaba esta época del año con ilusión. El verano era sinónimo de Kira. De playa, de risas, de helados, de paseos sin mirar el reloj. Mi mayor felicidad era verla disfrutar. Con los años ya no era una niña. Le gustaba ir con sus amigas, tomar el sol, bañarse en el mar y reírse de cualquier cosa. Y yo era feliz simplemente llevándolas a sus playas favoritas, esperándolas, sabiendo que estaban disfrutando de la vida. Hoy todo eso ha desaparecido. Desde que Kira murió, el verano se ha convertido en la estación más larga del año. Me sobran las horas. Me sobra el tiempo. Porque todo ese tiempo que antes era para ella, ahora se ha quedado vacío. Cada playa me recuerda su sonrisa. Cada familia que veo disfrutando junta me recuerda la vida que nos arrebataron. Dicen que el tiempo lo cura todo. No es verdad. El tiempo solo te enseña a caminar con una ausencia que nunca deja de doler. Esta fotografía fue uno de los últimos veranos que pasé con mi hija, en Mallorca. Pocos meses después, el acoso escolar que sufrió acabó arrebatándome lo más valioso que tenía. Si tienes la suerte de poder abrazar hoy a tu hijo o a tu hija, hazlo. Dedícale tiempo. Escúchale. Pregúntale cómo está. Porque nunca sabemos cuándo un verano será el último. Yo daría todo lo que tengo por volver a vivir un solo día como aquel. Te quiero, Kira. Te echaré de menos cada verano, cada día y cada minuto de mi vida. ❤️

🕯️Sharona Harel was at Nova with friends to celebrate her 40th birthday when Hamas attacked. The last image of her was in the site’s police command centre. She ended up hiding in an ambulance which was hit with a thermo RPG that incinerated everyone inside. Never forget her.
