@TheSubHunter1 @HouseChambers Right, but in my opinion, in this case it was a coincidence. OTH radars work by moving across various frequencies and sometimes they jam even very important channels. This also often happens on 8992 kHz, US Strategic Command/US Air Force HF-GCS
Unidentified and very powerful OTH (Over The Horizon) radar, operating around 10450kHz, creating heavy interference on 10452kHz, one of the 🇷🇺Russian Navy's most used shortwave frequencies for strategic communications to surface units. Received in 🇮🇹Milan 20:39 UTC June 24 2026

@SagaciousSapien Just because a signal is received in Milan doesn't mean it was intended for Milan. These are shortwave signals, not phone calls. If you're unfamiliar with how radio signals propagate, you can find plenty of information online.

@RickHan It sounds like VVV VVV to you because you've “tuned” your ear to the wrong tone. You need to focus on the lowest tone and you'll clearly hear XXX XXX.

@RSvoboda432 The message is One Time Pad ciphered. Numbers are transmitted in groups of five. I missed the initial part of the transmission, when the number of groups that will be sent is indicated.

Sometimes people ask me how I capture the exact start of a military broadcast. Magic? No. I simply tune in and spend minutes recording nothing, like in this video, waiting for something interesting. Sometimes it works, sometimes nothing happens.
