@JulianMalins @KeruboSk I always got a kick out of telling my dad his grandfather was born when James Monroe was president. My dad ,his father, and his father's father were born in Nova Scotia and he thought that disqualified the comparison.

@mercoglianos @johnkonrad @USNavy My dad had a life-long aversion to canned fruit cocktail due to a logistics mix up in Dec 1945 troop ship return to SF from India/Burma.He was in last contingent and a provisioning SNAFU resulted in vast supply of canned fruit. Never served at our house through his passing in2013

@GolfTravelerJoe Cabot Cliff on Cape Breton in NS. Spectacular setting, shifting winds, hot sun , cold rain in the same round. And fresh lobster. I got greedy and bought a 4 pounder to steam at VRBO and no suitable cracker. Pitching wedge worked.

@BruceWard2 @ChrisMurphyCT Not so nice for retirees. Pay income tax for past 50 years, save some post tax dollars then retire to live off your savings. Presto, overnight your nest egg is taxed as you spend your already taxed dollars

@RightisRightPA Seems fair unless you are retired. You pay income tax on every penny of wages for 50 years. You put away some after-tax portion for retirement over those 50 years. Wages end at retirement. Now you pay a hefty tax on spending your already-taxed nest egg. Coming and going
