I met Dr. Norman Finkelstein back when I was in University. He's a Jewish-American political scientist that spent the majority of his life researching this topic and speaking against the injustices that Palestinians have faced in the past 70 years.
"Israel has the right to defend itself" is a propaganda line they try to drill into your head because it implies israel isn't the aggressor and Palestinians are at fault. The reality is that israelis are colonizers and Palestinians are the ones resisting and defending themselves.
