Fixed rates make looping safer, and @flexmeow (a Yearn subdao) will be the safest place to loop onchain The #1 question I've had about Flex is about how we enforce good market behavior in such an open system You can pick your own rate, so are people going to low ball offers know lenders will fill borrows automatically? To open a position, you pay 1 week of the annualized interest rate. This is to incentivize healthy asks of lenders Open with a rate too low? You're redeemed Want to adjust your rate so you don't get redeemed? Free, 1 time per week Want to adjust your rate more than once per week? Pay 1 week of interest Want to redeem someone else and take their rate? Pay 1 week of interest With these incentives together, we still need operational partners to ensure users are able to move interest rates and avoid being redeemed in times of volatility. Freindly reminder, no Yearn vault will have any losses from the Aave bad debt regardless of size. All vaults remained liquid for users to atomically withdraw through this incident. yvWETH-1 may be the only large WETH vault that was never illiquid or paused. Its now 90% idle and starting to rebuy depegged stETH at a giant discount yvUSD structure allowed it to remain liquid for anyone wanting to withdraw, while continuing to earn elevated yields with the rest Vaults are hard.
