@elonmusk This is inaccurate - In Australia you aren’t required to produce any ID when voting. You are required to produce simple ID to ENROL to vote. This can include someone who is already enrolled confirming your identity. We have compulsory voting and negligible voter fraud. It works

@frank_be Hard to force a penalty as windward boat - as Prada turned up Brittania was required to keep clear. They weren’t overlapped, just closing. the speed makes it look dangerous but they have to anticipate a turn up and keep clear. No penalty

Pretty interesting video here about the lack of transparency on ride share pricing for drivers. It highlights the challenge regulators have about ensuring proprietary algorithms are operating legally and transparently. We need more ways to verify and provide choice in algorithms

NEW: We put 7 Uber & Lyft drivers in one room and had them open their apps. We found Uber paying different drivers different amounts for the same ride. Lyft too. It’s proof corporations are using secret algorithms to pay workers less. And all of our jobs could be next.

@lexfridman LLMs are just improv actors with access to a lot of information. They can be given a role to play: “Act like a doctor”, and they’ll compellingly play it well, but they’re not a doctor. They need directing, and as part of an ensemble with humans can be amazing

@GaryMarcus @lexfridman An LLM is just an improv actor with access to way more information. If given a character, role and scene description, it will play a great role & very often get info right, but it’s still an actor playing at being a doctor, etc. Can’t trust it 100% but neither can you a human.

@Tazerface16 You can only win the AI battle if you own the operating system so your AI agents can actually get things done inside and across other people’s apps. Siri, Google and MSFT will be able to take actions across all apps on a device and be helpful, Grok will be stuck making dumb jokes

@Tazerface16 Personally I think Apple knows that long-term AI in the cloud won’t be trusted as much as AI on device, so spending billions on building cloud infra doesn’t make sense when you can be spending it on new device silicon and at the OS level. Apple devices will be AI agents

@AukeHoekstra @wrightg A quick search: “Tesla says Autopilot cars are involved in 0.2 crashes per million miles, versus a 1.5 US average.” This is a way to assess the driver assistance tech for all OEMs - compare the fatality rates: the more tech, the safer we all are.
