A fact everyone should know. The U.S. military tries to run almost everything on JP-8, a military-grade fuel. So, what is JP-8? It is a kerosene based fuel, very similar to Jet A-1 used by commercial aircraft, but with special military additives to improve safety, reliability, and performance across all kinds of equipment. Now here’s the question: Why don’t major militaries use E10 or E20 petrol for their vehicles? Because military logistics demand fuel that can be stored for long periods and perform reliably in the harshest environments. Ethanol-blended petrol presents several challenges: • Ethanol readily absorbs moisture, making long-term storage difficult. • It contains less energy than pure petrol, reducing fuel efficiency. • Fuel quality degrades faster over time. • Military fuel must remain stable in extreme conditions from scorching deserts to freezing Arctic temperatures. Yet India is pushing E20 while most militaries around the world continue to rely on fuels designed for maximum reliability and long-term storage. It raises an important question: If the world’s leading armed forces avoid ethanol-blended petrol for operational vehicles because of these limitations, what could be the long-term implications for the Indian Armed Forces if such fuels become more widespread in military logistics? ☺️

If you can't provide E10 fuel alongside E20, and your excuse is "administrative" or "supply chain issues," then resign and let someone competent handle the job, @HardeepSPuri. Millions of vehicle owners are being forced to bear the consequences of this ethanol policy. Administrative excuses are unacceptable when public policy directly impacts people's vehicles, money, and daily lives. Either ensure consumers have a choice or step aside.
