Between this and the jailbreak store, it looks like Sony is just gonna have to get comfortable with not owning its own games. 🤷🏻♂️

PS2 yesterday…. Wait… We on to PS3 already!?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 (yes, I'm laughing at his joke)
I think @Sony should figure out a way to store their games on encrypted discs that can only play the game on Sony's hardware. If only that type of technology existed, maybe someday.
the fact that sony could've done this the whole time but chose not to is very telling. All that gatekeeping shit gotta stop.

I’ve lots of people asking me what I think about this. Answer is, I’m conflicted. I never agreed with piracy. There’s a lot of people behind these games, lots of royalties and art from their creators. At the same time, it’s a bit of well deserved karma for Sony for ditching physical media. The facts that PS2 games are able to be played showed that retro compatibility was always possible, they are just too greedy for simply allowing it to us by default. So yeah. Conflicted. I would use this for recent games but for playing PS2 games it’s pretty dope.

@itsmeshamwow Lolol the hatred is real for the jailbreakers
Those PS2 games didnt need to be updated every 3 weeks because they was complete pieces of software when they launched. Imagine a game being finished when its being sold to you!
Nostalgia got y'all jailbreaking your PS5 for PS2 games. Ummmm hope the idea lives up to hype of playing old games for 10 minutes!
Sony... Y'all really done fucked up. 💀💀
This is crazy, a jailbroken PS5 can now play original PS2 game discs directly, without needing to copy the games to digital files first. Modders have found a way to use the PS5’s disc drive to read original PS2 DVDs and run the games through an emulator. But they’re not
Pra quem não tava acreditando, É REAL! Acabei de colocar um disco PIRATÃO de 20 ANOS DE IDADE no PS5 e ele RODOU!
PS5SX2 is all over the FYP on YT & TikTok rn. New videos keep popping up every hour.👇
@Alaa_Eddine55 it's not up to me to implement, that's a whole different project
It always blew my mind how not every console with discs was backwards compatible, like it’s a computer dude it can do and read whatever it’s programmed to… At least with Nintendo and the changing cartridge sizes it made sense to me but I always knew Sony was after the 💰💰💰
