Bitcoin is decentralized.
But it runs on the internet.
And the internet is anything but free. Now, Bitcoin is getting more and more accumulated by the same crowd that’s already in power. Governments. Banks. Corporations. Hedge funds. Public companies. ETFs. DATCOs. Sovereign wealth funds. Bitcoin’s fixed supply doesn’t stop power from concentrating.
 It might even accelerate it… potentially faster than fiat or gold ever did. Bitcoin is transparent as f* and fully traceable. Every transaction. Every address. And who’s watching? - Chainalysis (and other aggregators) - Government agencies - Regulators - Banks The “public ledger” cuts both ways. 
It empowers… but it also exposes. In a world where total privacy isn’t even possible with privacy tools or coins… Even Monero gets flagged.
Zcash faces KYC pressure.
Every wallet and app lives somewhere (see what just happened with Trustwallet and it’s browser extension!) with logs, IPs, devices, metadata. What touches the internet leaves a fingerprint.
 And what can be traced… can be stopped. Grandma’s gold ring might actually be safer. No IP address.
No server logs.
No chain history.
No VPN.
No seed phrase.
No terms of service. Just physical, bearer value.
Off-grid. Off-chain. Off-record. Not “smart money”… but quiet, untouchable, unregistered money. And that’s worth something. Any coin that needs the internet and mass hardware is not truly safe. Hard to admit, but: - phones can be tracked - laptops seized - ledger firmware backdoored - ISPs can block nodes - power grids targeted - cloud hosting shut off And the internet? It wasn’t built by cypherpunks. We should ALWAYS remember this! The same rails Bitcoin runs on are owned, monitored and regulated by the very powers it was meant to escape. That’s the paradox. It’s okay to talk about what makes BTC valuable:
Scarcity. Permissionlessness. Durability. Portability.
Those are real strengths. Don’t get me wrong! But let’s stop luring people in by calling it “freedom tech” just because it’s decentralized. Decentralization is not a magic shield. If: - access is KYC’d - usage is tracked - devices are monitored - custody is centralized - on/off ramps are controlled …then Bitcoin becomes just another transparent, traceable, institutionally captured asset running on monitored rails. Bitcoin is freedom-compatible.
But it’s not freedom-guaranteed! That part?
Still up to us.
