Are you a Serial Congratulator?
The friend who is always somewhere in the comments saying:
“Congratulationssss 😭❤️”
“So proud of you!”
“You deserve this!”
“My babyyyy! Finally!”
Even when you are still waiting for your own good news?
Word of the day: Serial Congratulator
Origin: The emotionally secure side of the internet.
Meaning: One who knows that the absence of something in their own life does not stop them from acknowledging and celebrating its presence in someone else’s.
The difference is, not everybody processes difficult seasons the same way.
Some people take longer to open up.
Others carry their struggles quietly.
That doesn’t mean all is well with them.
Hear me out…
Sometimes, you need to decenter yourself and deal with that main character syndrome.
Life can happen to you and your friends at the same time.
Your friends are dealing with things too.
Our testimonies should leave people talking about God’s goodness, not comparing lives or implying that those who died somehow mattered less.
At the end of the day, all the glory belongs to God.
Humility and compassion should always accompany our testimonies because someone listening may have just buried a loved one.
The same words that encourage one person could unintentionally deepen another person’s grief.
As Christians, when we testify, the focus should always be on God, not ourselves.
One thing I’ve never really understood is when someone says, “Many are in the mortuary.”
What exactly do we mean by that?
