Tabish Abdi reached out to Girl via Facebook using the fake Hindu identity of "Vishal Rana." After she initially refused his advances, he spent time "impressing" her by sending daily photos of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva to build trust and a sense of shared religious identity. What started as a friendship led to Tabish approaching her parents for marriage. They had a traditional Hindu arranged marriage with full rituals. The truth came out at the marriage registration office in Allahabad. Sangeet saw his signature and realized his name was Tabish Abdi and that he was Muslim. When she informed her parents, they prioritized "social honor" (Iszat) over her safety. As Rajputs, they feared the societal scandal of a broken marriage and pressured her to stay with him despite the fraud. After 8–10 months of marriage, Tabish began demanding she convert, wear an Abaya, and recite the Kalma. He took her to Lucknow to meet Jalaluddin (alias Chhangur), who allegedly runs a conversion racket. Sangeet was pressured with promises of "heaven" and financial power. She was eventually tricked and forced into eating beef (being told it was a vegetable) after she initially refused. While pregnant in February, Tabish forced her to undergo an abortion, stating he would not allow the child to be born unless she converted to Islam. After she returned to him a second time (again due to parental pressure), Tabis took her to Ramnagar. He attempted to push her off a mountain to kill her so she could never file a police report (FIR). Sangeet managed to secretly WhatsApp a distress message with her location and the red car’s license plate number. The police intercepted the vehicle based on this information, saving her life. Sangeet is now 30 and dealing with severe anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Her professional life is suffering, and she changes jobs frequently due to the trauma and legal proceedings. She alleges that Tabish’s brother is the mastermind behind a political and conversion "gang" that targets many women in their city. She is calling for strict legal justice and has issued a stern warning to other Hindu women to be wary of similar patterns of "Love Jihad," claiming that the deception is systemic.
