I felt the shift too. I intentionally started a new twitter account that focused on my software engineering “life”. My goal is to build authority in technical leadership. Pre-August most accounts would just reply for the sake of replies. Now I see more constructive opinions and perspectives shared on X. I am far from being eligible for any X reward program. But my goal is to grow influence and be good at it.

Felt like someone read my mind. 🤣 I am personally keen on the following - Give AI guardrails through interfaces to use I.e. types, shared models, paradigms - Use Plan Mode before Build. This saves AI from going of course This is simple and allows me to be token efficient.

I know it's not super sexy or hot. But I'm making really good progress with: - projects with clear guardrails & guidelines - in-depth research & planning - setting up task-specific self-verifiable loops - running tasks in parallel (worktrees) if possible but also often working

I don’t have a lot of the budget for AI tools. I wish I could try Astra or Fable without restraint. I am regular Sonnet user. My prompting is plan with Sonnet. Use skills to elevate my plan. Ask Claude or OpenCode to implement simpler tasks with Haiku. I spend much of my time in Plan mode. This means I implement feature by feature. This allows me to control quality.

Wow. This is inspiring. I shall borrow a lot from this. My current approach is a bit low tech… currently using apple notes When an idea pops in my head I add it to a list. I often prompt Gemini or Claude and dump the ideas back in apple notes. I do this because I like reading and reading those ideas before working on them. So that I that work on what matters most.

What is next? - Make configurable the review instructions. Each organization prioritizes different things. - Link this to my other tool diagramguru.com so that the C4 system architecture diagrams are kept up top date. Basically self-updating architecture diagrams 😱

With AI writing lots of code, code review is becoming essential. I have been working on a review tool to make this easy for me. It breaks down the PR with - Understanding. Brief explanation of the change and value addition - Diagram to show the flow of data, sequence diagram (this is by far the best of this) - Suggestions of comments to send to the PR (if I am working on a team) With this, I am able to work through reviews in a way that works for me. For now the review instructions are hard coded. I am thinking of making this configurable so that a software engineer can decide what matters to them. It works on your AI keys (BYOK) I am running it using @vercel workflows so that the tasks are durable and can be more resilient

As a mobile apps builder, I am wondering what kind of apps would thrive on the new iPhone Duo? Apps that Apple Duo owners, would pay to use. My early guess is that engaging video heavy apps would thrive because of 2 screen setup. What do you think?

@marclou The tech behind Staklr seems like what can power a cold outreach platform. This can then make it a painkiller 💊 Once you have who is talking about your product, the next thing is create a means to reach out to them. It is definitely simpler to state the problem compared to building it.
