I have seen far too many SCURM Master's & TPMs work in this way and be rewarded for it. Running projects and teams poorly but be praised for putting out their own fires. Very short term thinking

Management sets constraints and strategic goals. Engineers work within those constraints to achieve those goals using the tools and techniques they think will work best. This is not kindergarten, and prima-donna programmers are not entitled to their jobs. Sorry. 2/2
Every time I bring up team autonomy, somebody inevitably tweets back that you can't let devs just do what they feel like. Methinks those people don't know what that word means. 1/2
