Extensive Spatiotemporal Chaos in Nonreciprocal Flocking journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/1… Our work with Chul-Ung and Heiko reveals that chiral order in non-reciprocal active matter is unstable due to extensive spatiotemporal chaos.
Two new papers show that chiral order in 2D nonreciprocal flocking systems breaks down past a specific length scale of chiral rotation, giving rise to spatiotemporal chaos akin to turbulence at larger scales. 🔗 go.aps.org/4xJ6fvX 🔗 go.aps.org/3UKzDDi
The StatPhys conference is a flagship conference in statistical physics, held every three years.
Proud supervisor moment: Jung-Hoon Jung, a PhD student in my group, received the 1st Prize Poster Award in Topic 8 (Interdisciplinary and complex systems) in StatPhys29. There were 114 posters in Topic 8 and he is the only Korean awardee in the all 9 topics (in total 946 posters)
