@ponnappa The "pays for your tokens" filter is the 2026 version of the "pays for a great laptop" filter from 2010. It sorts for managers who already know AI fluency compounds the operator under them. Anyone gatekeeping access to tools is signaling exactly where they sit on the curve.
@mercury Same idea applies to ops AI. The losing pattern: pipe data out to a separate tool, ask questions, paste answers back. The winning pattern: intelligence lives inside the workflow surface where the decision actually happens. Context beats portability every time.

Quickest test for whether your AI ops tooling is real: Pull a week of your data analyst's tickets. If 60%+ are "pull X by Y filter," you're paying for translation, not analysis. Fix is text-to-SQL with a semantic layer, not a senior hire.
