No one is ready.
Without God, or without a conception of objective universal truth, judgement and ethics, we’ll be perpetually wandering between anarchy and tyranny, in which morality is solely dictated by the survival of the fittest.
At the root of thought, mind and matter meet.
The best way to believe is to have evidence. If you don’t have evidence, work until you do.
If matter is primary, and God doesn’t exist, that would mean that morality isn’t objective. What would that imply?
Does the truth 1+1=2 exist? Yes? And if you erase all perceiving life forms in the entire universe, so nobody can hold the thought 1+1=2. Does it still exist? Yes? What about also erasing all matter. Does it still exist? Can you truly erase abstract ideas from existence?
Is matter primary? Or is mind primary? Is consciousness local? Or does consciousness reside within a realm we do not quite understand yet?
What if it worked out better than you could ever imagine?
Believing that this reality around us is the result of an accidental dance of atoms, takes more faith than believing that God operates behind the curtains of our existence.
All your past micro and macro decisions led to your current life. You chose your life, whether you want to admit it or not.
The reason you don’t commit suicide right now, is the reason you should try your absolute best in this short spin on earth. What is your WHY?
But the cumulation of all these small variables could add up to an increase in their closing rate of 10X. So maybe you’re literally a few little tweaks away from earning 10X more.
In sales, results aren’t linearly linked to competence. Somebody could be earning 10X more than you in the same field. That doesn’t mean they’re 10X more competent. They could literally be 1% better in multiple small things: slightly better eye contact, slightly better posture.
Did all the particles in the entire universe that make up the matter around us ALWAYS exist somewhere within this 3D plane of existence? Or did they spawn out of nowhere? Both alternatives are illogical.
Is your free will just a subset of a bigger all-encompassing determinism?
