It’s hard to see all these stories about rent increases and not conclude that landlords suck. Or did all landlords have to take out new loans in the last year? Yeah, that’s probably it.

@smithkl42 I see your words, but I would like to see some data to go with them. Also, lots of renters saw pretty massive income drops during the pandemic. Something tells me that somehow, these landlords are gonna be okay.

Why does the media tie itself into pretzel shapes trying to explain inflation when the answer is so obviously capitalism? Tighten your belt for Ukraine! Meanwhile, no one will remember to watch the quarterly reports for all the businesses currently gouging the consumer.

@kenzerrrs Yeah… Idaho. Also, if the American oligarchs can keep us rabble fighting each other over these things, they get to keep on exploiting us. So, they just keep tossing fuel on the culture war fires and we keep taking the bait. It’s not great.

@MarkDRuss It is definitely a hallmark of Quakerism to push back on pretty much every example of authority. At our best, we are unlikely to fall into cult of personality problems. At our worst, we lack the collaborative power of a group focused on a collective goal.
