Your provider's maintenance notice went to spam. You find out from the EA's disconnect instead of the email. Whitelist the sender and bookmark the status page while nothing is wrong. That is not the moment you want to be hunting for either.

Terminal.ini gets corrupted by an unclean shutdown just as easily as open trade state does. If chart templates or indicator settings reset for no reason after a reboot, that file is usually why.

A broker moving to a new server IP without an announcement isn't rare. If your firewall or hosts file locked in the old address, the terminal just times out with no useful error at all.

RDP has its own idle timeout separate from Windows' screen lock. Get disconnected mid-session with everything still running fine underneath and it's usually that, not your internet.

Log files nobody rotates will eventually fill the disk, and a full disk stops a terminal from writing its own config on shutdown. The crash you're debugging might just be housekeeping nobody set up.

Windows Defender's scheduled full scan doesn't ask if the market's open. If it lands during your session and your MT4/MT5 folder isn't excluded, the terminal can freeze for a few seconds at the exact wrong moment.

Report generation at end of day writes gigabytes to disk. If that job overlaps a live position, execution can lag by exactly the amount of time the disk is busy elsewhere.

RDP licensing has a grace period, usually 120 days. Nobody tracks it. It runs out mid-session, kicks you off with no warning, and now you're locked out during a live trade.

Antivirus real time scanning loves to flag a compiled EA DLL as suspicious the first time it runs. Exclude your MT4/MT5 folder from the scan, not just terminal.exe, or you'll get silent stalls nobody can explain.
