@mxcl There are good LED lights available, they're just 5-10x more expensive and available at big-box stores. For example, Iolite series from Nora Lighting is quite good

Block device performance is a deep, but exciting rabbit hole! I think that latency distributions are not available because they're too dependent on the workload, disk wear, free space, trim, fw version, etc. Also, manufacturers would hesitate putting 10ms+ latency buckets in their SSD specs :-) Also, in the context of OLTP databases performance, getting fsync/fdatasync latency profiles could be a better approximation of latency / disk subsystem performance.

@eatonphil Tools -> Activity allows you to do that, I think. Worst part is inconsistency, when 20% of org hide their activity and others don't. One can't rely on view history then.
