I was just checking out @blurofficial recent set list and thought “bummer, they didn’t play “Battles”, one of my faves. And they played some older tunes and I wondered how long it took to relearn old material. Some bands use their own guitar tabs to relearn their own songs.

I don’t speak for all bands. Maybe some can (like the White Stripes). But not more complex music. Even if all members had perfect memory, they may need a specific instrument or tuning or effect pedal that’s not readily available.

Do music fans know bands often CAN’T play their requests? Like, literally don’t remember how, if they have a large catalogue. Bands rehearse a specific set for weeks. So shouting out “play [fave song]” is pointless if it’s not on the set list. #livemusic #showerthoughts

@MickWest I wish there weren’t the two camps of believers and sceptics. Each person alone should be both an analyst and a sceptic. I would do away with “believers” and “debunkers”. It’s fine to WANT certain things to be true. But it shouldn’t colour one’s analysis on any topic.

@MickWest The problem occurs when some take the “unidentified” and “unknowns” and weave them into fanciful theories and present those as fact. Going as far as selling books full of such and passing them off as science. So I would also say “C”, but ensuring scientific rigour is maintained.

@willrunri0t @BillSpe74954834 @coldxman I did as well for 6 years. Agreed. I’ve seen the tip option when there are no employees. I don’t like adding a tip on a debit machine. I just have to trust that the owner is going to give the tips to employee. I’d rather hand it to them directly. I guess I have trust issues.

@BillSpe74954834 @coldxman Speaking of store owners; you’re only supposed to tip the staff because they aren’t paid well. I see those tip options present when the owner is working. So owners are getting tips while grossly underpaying their staff I guess? (Cuz many won’t know who the owner is).

@BBCNews On the upside, this mural sparked a discussion about modern slavery! Oh wait, no, it didn’t. I didn’t read a single comment from the “offended” that mentioned it. Yes we can discuss both issues. But we’re not. Virtue signalling like this is a first world luxury.

@BBCNews Personally, I think it’s good to be reminded of our dark past, potentially a dark future, AND our dark present. To be reminded of it while you eat crème brûlée is personal preference. So sure, replace it with something pretty so we can pretend slavery doesn’t exist today.

@benmyers29 @frankgreco1 I also have this horrible feeling that by everyone assuming it’s fine for the global population to grow endlessly, we’re royally screwing over future generations. And no one wants to talk about it. Let’s just make more of everything forever! What could go wrong?

@GovCanHealth By banning flavours and lowering the nicotine limit, you’re forcing us to go back to smoking, buy on the black market, or vape those useless 2% pods and spend all day sucking it back to get the same amount of nicotine making it more dangerous. I guess big Tobacco wins.
