The West Midlands in the Civil Wars
‘Tinker Fox: Birmingham’s Roundhead Brigand’ brings to life the civil war experiences of Fox, scornfully nicknamed 'the Jovial Tinker' by his royalist enemies.

Next Tuesday evening, 23 June, join us for a walk around 17th century St Ives, to find out more about life in the town in the 1600s including a great fire, markets, puritans and of course Cromwell. More details and bookings at: cromwellmuseum.org/whats-on/cromw…
The scene setter narrative of Prince Rupert & the massacre at Birmingham continues to be open to debate, but the strength of this film lies in the reconstruction of Fox's activities & some explanation of local garrisons.
The format works well.
Very informative.

There is such gross bias in this: "Rupert's men cut through the town in an orgy of death and destruction."
30 Royalists soldiers died, 14 Parliamentarians—40 taken PoWs. Just 17 civilian deaths—some fighting alongside the soldiers—by Parliamentarian accounts, 1 by Royalist ones.
