Man is so addicted to sex that he tries to have a girlfriend for almost every single day of his life, especially between the ages of 20 and 30. The most interesting part of this Faustian bargain is that he never notices he can never make money because his social life and relationships are constantly consuming his time, energy, and income. Within seven years, he has little to show for it and never fully recovers. All of this stems from the same thing: an addiction to sex. When you look at the highest-functioning winners, you often notice long sexless periods in their lives. They build their money, skills, and network first. Then, at 28 or 30, they suddenly have access to opportunities that seemed impossible before. Even if they lose themselves for a while, they usually recover quickly because they have financial leverage and a strong network behind them. Everybody talks about how cruel the world was to Guy A, but nobody notices that he was being paid in sex the entire time. He spent years with one mediocre girlfriend who consumed his attention, slowed his progress, and eventually moved on. Deep down, he knew that was always a possibility, but he couldn't give up the beers, the parties, and the constant need for social validation. He convinces himself that he was dealt a bad hand, when in reality he was playing it safe. Having a stable life with one girlfriend can still be an addiction if it consistently drains your life energy and prevents growth. The time he spent maintaining comfort was time that could have been spent building a better future. Now all he can do is resent the guys who waited, built themselves up, and started dating later. Don't resent them. You did not go through what they went through. While they were sacrificing, building, and delaying gratification, you were eating cupcakes with your girlfriend. Eventually, you became the cupcake.
