I'll just point out two things for now: 'This is the Bread of life' is not an ego eimi statement. And his disciples didn't understand.

What intrigues me is why you feel you have the authority to interpret His teaching as you see fit.

And it has been understood literally from the earliest times. I prefer to trust Our Lord, and the testimony of those close to him, rather than you or 15th century reformers

@tolepainter56 @KeithNester1 @farmingandJesus That's your interpretation. It is not what the Bible says. He does not say "This represents My Body" but 'This IS My Body.' I prefer to believe Him, rather than you. As does most of Christendom, both historically, from earliest times, and now.

But I believe that when He said 'This Is My Body' and This Is My Blood' His words accomplished what He declared. When he repeated 'Unless you eat of my flesh' He meant it.
