Some humans dedicate their lives, without exaggeration or facetiousness, to realizing metaphysical truths, & they do this for the sake of everyone, perhaps unconsciously, but also for themselves, more consciously. Or it is unconscious at the start & progressively more understood.
@SmaragdinaVisio very Henri Corbin-esque with the man of light. I like Arthur's work, very nice fellow too, and was undergrad advisor for a friend of mine. Jeff Kripal is writing about the subject of spiritual light in his new upcoming book series as well. Its a very pervasive theme/experience
If everything is eternal then it exists prior to and after the moment of its manifested actualization, everything has another life parallel to or indwelling in this one, in which change is not the primary reality or perhaps no reality at all.
I think it would be interesting to compare Parmenides and Zeno’s denial of the reality of change with AN Whitehead’s idea of the Consequent Nature of God who preserves the world eternally at every moment of the creative-advance.

in humanistic scholarship, the "territory" is the minds of individuals coded in cultural products like literature, philosophy, poetry, etc. Going into the territory is communion with those minds, reading a map about it is not.
probe: AI is similar to GPS mapping in that it deskills one's ability to navigate the real territory without it, but it is different because with AI there is no territory, only endless maps. AI threatens to degrade one's ability to access the territory at all, pure simulacrum.
