@WindowsLatest This is awesome changes to come! Kudos to the team finally addressing this. Hopefully it will be very snappy like from PowerToys and remain that way. Showing content on search result for document is one of the things I'm asking for ages. Hopefully more format to support.

@WindowsLatest About Copilot, the app being multi-instance and dock with apps seems better approached than making it part of the app. This gives better option for users don't like Copilot, and disabling it means any other apps won't have it. This got better flexibility.

@aemond @StevenKister1 @zacbowden Yep, at the end of the day, this is due to whatever the main Chromium projects is doing which Edge is currently using. I doubt for AI, at least with current state when it's mostly just chat. If this is like agentic with browser and system level access, then yeah.

@H4zzard10 @zacbowden Yep, even when you hover your mouse on lower left corner. But yeah just not always visible text like from XP. We can count Windows 7 only of Classic Theme is enabled, but certainly not default setting anymore.

@rob_stemp @ChuZhen1 @zacbowden There may be a case this time as huge monitors and 4K is alot more common that it used to be. Not everyone has it, but more user have this setup. When you go monitor that is so large, you can get away not always maiming any app except for apps that truly benefit it.

@mancerrss @aidaknx There is a reason flat design became prevalent. Also back in the day when skeumorphism is everywhere, a good flat design was actually breath of fresh air. Just like any other trends when it became everyday thing, it becomes stale and 'normal'.

@wisplite @melchoy @Nerdsauce1 @aidaknx Yep, the translucent/blur effect back in the day was actually pretty novel. Vista was the only OS at that time implemented that effect widely to the OS. Mac OS X? That blur effect wasn't a thing till iOS7. They had transparency, reflection, 3D cube and morphing fx though.

@melchoy @aidaknx Especially with the internet bandwidth back in the day. Some of those websites are indeed fairly heavy to load as they are full of images, especially before the prevalence of HTML5 and CSS3 era. Many of websites back in the day are fairly simple. Google for example.

@designedbyabin @WindowsCentral They really need to re-architecture Windows 11 Widgets. It hasn't been great since it's launched and it didn't help you can only access it hidden under Widgets Board, which isn't snappy to use and didn't work offline. Live Tiles had foundation, they just need to be interactive.

@WindowsLatest This new UI may be fresh, but feels disjoint from Windows 11 Fluent Design. Maybe it's early stage, but the UI elements not aligning in grid to the window, including the app icon in the title bar. Just feels weird. Hopefully this won't negate in function and performance.

@WindowsLatest So more design inconsistency? Current Windows 11 Fluent Design doesn't use this too aggressive corner radius, and for a reason as apps aren't design this way and will cut off content and more wasted space. But introducing this introduce another set of design inconsistency.

@MicrosoftDesign Hopefully that Start Menu and Search Flyout will be simply combine into same menu, and just dynamically change. Just like when Start Menu had dedicated All Apps page and simply slides in animation. Search should be the same and no more weird disjoint UI and same native flyout.

@lookitskris @zacbowden It just need basic update to match the look of OOBE, just make the background black and the rounded window just dark mode gray and put contents in there and done with it.
