British police are especially useless when it comes to protecting women from NON-intimate partners, particularly when the men involved are black or brown. They literally say “we can’t act until he does something.” Translation: come back when you’re assaulted or found dead. No woman should ever rely solely on the police for protection. Gutted. The sensational character actor, Tim Curry has left the stage. A truly gifted performer of stage and screen, his one eyebrow could say more than most actors entire bodies. I am grateful to have the rare gift of watching him work, he made you better just standing near him.

@HarveyRivers17 Yes and Barbara Windsor was already a beloved British actress and icon by the time she started EE too. The BBC knew this. The original Peggy looked more like she was related to Phil and Grant lol I enjoyed seeing her in Carry On Movies and other old movies.

@HarveyRivers17 This was quite normal before the late 90s. You probably get sick of me mentioning it but in Wind in the Willows, characters drink wine all the time and ale is also mentioned. Though the target audience was slightly older Camberwick Green characters got drunk on cider too

@HarveyRivers17 Yes and that's why my parents and grandparents enjoyed the show too, Harvey. I mean they didn't want to watch it everyday, but they thought it was good quality and enjoyable. My dad rejected Series 5 instantly and my mum felt it was a downgrade in certain ways

@HarveyRivers17 I liked that line as a kid. I know MJ can be considered controversial now but I found it cool and funny. It added to the realism that Fireman Sam mostly add. Some things were far fetched like Bentley but the original Sam referenced real people, real places and real products
