Some people like to suggest “you shouldn’t bother defending the rights of people who wouldn’t do the same for you.” That is not a persuasive argument. 1) You don’t even know that’s true. 2) It doesn’t matter even if it is true. A principled defense of rights is not a transaction.

Either way, winner-take-all forces voters to have reps they disagree with - even the people that voted for the winner will often disagree with their rep, let alone the other 40-60%. Time for a change!

Single winner districts result in tons of our votes being "wasted" - not directly leading to representation - no matter how the districts are drawn. Proportional voting minimizes the number of wasted votes, making every vote very powerful.

@winmyvote @LinkedIn Intriguing! Definitely ridiculous how behind the times our candidate info is. Do candidates have to use the site or can you pull in (or crowdsource) info from outside sources? Can you look at an issue page (eg charter schools) to see what each candidate thinks?
