Where’s Andy? Arkansas. For a Governor claiming Medicaid is facing catastrophe, he seems awfully comfortable leaving the state. The political theater never stops.

Where's @AndyBeshearKY? Not in Kentucky. All week he's been talking about how much work needs to be done to fix the problems HE created for Kentuckians. Instead of staying here and doing his job, he jets off to Arkansas. Over the last few months, the Governor has traveled everywhere from South Carolina to Iowa, and now Arkansas. Yet he'll still look Kentuckians in the eye and insist he's not running for President. Just how much have Kentuckians had to foot the bill for all this jet-setting?

Well, this is interesting. The General Assembly actually allocated more funding for Medicaid than @AndyBeshearKY requested. So why is he blaming Republicans for cuts to essential services when he has more money than he asked for? The Governor has choices. Instead of rooting out waste, fraud, and outdated programs, he's choosing to cut services Kentuckians rely on so he can paint Republicans as the boogeyman and then ride in claiming to be the hero.

It's time for @AndyBeshearKY to root out waste fraud and abuse and stop cutting programs that Kentuckians rely on. The Governor is choosing to cut services he doesn't have to cut in order to manufacture a crisis and attack Republican lawmakers so he can position himself as the hero. In reality, he's just the boy who cried wolf. If Beshear spent as much time rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse and as he does bemoaning Republicans, many of the "challenges" facing the executive branch wouldn't exist. Now that he's manufactured this crisis, let's see how long it takes before @GovAndyBeshear is at another Team Kentucky Update pulling the wool over Kentuckians' eyes and announcing that he suddenly found the funds to save programs like the Lee Clinic and other services. Just like he did with the senior meals program, this is another desperate attempt by the Governor to boost his standing in Iowa at the expense of Kentuckians who simply want a Governor focused on doing his job.

.@AndyBeshearKY is attacking Republicans and claiming the GOP is ripping the heart out of programs Kentuckians rely on. But as @KYAuditor explains in her Herald-Leader opinion, the reality is that the Governor and his administration are at the root of this problem. Not only did Beshear's administration fail to engage in efforts to address these issues, they repeatedly deflect responsibility to outside agencies and, of course, Republicans. Rather than responsibly reforming outdated and unnecessary programs, the Governor is targeting services Kentuckians depend on so he can manufacture a political attack against Republicans.
