Not a single person has ever managed to articulate why deadlifts have a bad risk/reward ratio, or give actual numbers on the mythical stimulus/fatigue ratio. All of it originates from one podcast clip of a strongman who was a poor deadlifter compared to his competitors.
In 20 years of coaching the deadlift to ~everyone I work with, I have had a handful of clients tweak their backs deadlifting but 1) less frequently than I have seen people in general tweak their backs outside the gym in random ways. 2) it usually resolves within a week,
People who talk constantly about the stimulus to fatigue ratio of deadlifts forget 2 things: 1) it's purely theoretical. No one can tell you what the actual ratio is. There's no agreed upon "stimulus/fatigue scale" that we can compare exercises with. We don't know if its SFR is good until a certain point and then becomes bad, or if it's bad all the time. You were just told on TikTok that the deadlift's SFR was "bad" and didn't investigate further because it confirmed your biases. 2) Even if we believe it's real, it's a RATIO. Clue's in the name. If you aren't creating a massive stimulus, there isn't going to be a lot of fatigue. The deadlift has been a foundational movement forever, and will remain so due to how undeniably effective it is for generating size and strength in novices and early intermediate lifters.
You can only get away with not looking big and strong if you've had a crazy long career with indisputable proof of results. For example Rippetoe, Charles Glass, Boris Sheiko.

Starting Strength's worst sin is writing sets and reps the wrong way around.
I enjoy when people shit on Starting Strength then say things that confirm they have no idea what they are talking about “Starting Strength is just for idiots who want to get fat and do 5x5 squats while drinking milk.” Well first off, it’s 5x3, not 5x5 bro. Get it right.
Humans should fear a slow erosion of physical capacity with time and stave that off by absolutely horsecocking heavy barbells on a regular basis

I don't even think Bolt's doping protocol is anything unique. I think it's very clear that the IOC just decided to pick a winner here. Think about it for a second. How would Jamaica have a doping protocol that outperforms every 1st world country?
The Olympic Games are already the Enhanced Games. These are the fastest 100m times ever run with the red ones caught doping. Bolt’s protocol just allowed him to not get caught.
Picking 5-8 exercises you believe in and hammering them hard for 5 years will do more for your physique than almost any advice given on social media.
