A video taken and uploaded by a witness who was there the entire time shows nothing like that. He had already been subdued. There was no immediate threat, or attempts to "attack and stab" the officers. The footage shows one officer trying to retrieve the weapon but struggling to turn him over, while a second officer repeatedly kicks him. It ends up being a member of the public who steps in and gets it done, the only real act of bravery we see.
