@SomeCleverNews P/E and ROTCE aren’t just correlated - it’s math. Generally speaking, P/E ≈ Payout Ratio / (r - g), with g = ROE × (1 - Payout Ratio). Higher ROE drives growth, lifting P/E. Earnings don’t ‘incorporate’ ROE; ROE uses earnings.

@thebankzhar spoon fed me GBFH a few years ago at $8. I didn’t have time to do the work and passed. A year later @thebankzhar practically forced me to a dinner with GBFH’s founder, Ed Nigro (the best of the best), and that meeting compelled me to take a closer look. My first reaction? Like @Aureliusltd28, I thought the patents looked (1) too good to be true and (2) flimsy at best. The bank’s upside potential, combined with Ed, made it worth the investment, so I hired an expensive top-tier IP attorney. Ed, true to form, was happy to put his attorneys, some of the best in the country, through their paces. I pre-gamed with my attorney, and as I suspected, he said that the patents appeared weak. BCS’s lead attorney introduced himself, a former senior examiner with the USPTO, whom I then watched maul my guy, as he walked us through the patent’s key provisions. A key takeaway is that the IP has nothing to do with business methods and the sort. Rather BCS has simply and brilliantly patented an account architecture. If a business transacts with thousands or millions of customers, and the goal is for the consumers’ funds to be FDIC insured throughout that relationship, this is pretty much the only game in town. I asked their attorney if, for example, BCS’ solution definitively solves [this problem](consumerfinance.gov/about-us/newsr…)? He said yes, and my attorney, doing a full 180, concurred. @thebankzhar Acquiring GBFH at $100 is a strategically brilliant rounding error for one of these giant fintechs. The IP is rock solid. Just not sure if the Board would, or even should, sell at that price.

Kamala‘s is riddled with neocon warmongers. The RFK/JFK dems were allies of Main Street, cops, firefighters, and working people. VP Harris’s is the Party of Big Tech, Big Pharma and Wall Street. My dad and uncle’s party was the champion of voting rights and fair elections. VP Harris’s is the party of lawfare, disenfranchisement, and the coronation of its candidates by corporate donors and party elites. I’ve used our nation’s courts to prosecute corporations who hurt Black Americans. VP Harris used our nation’s courts to mercilessly prosecute Black Americans and exploit them for their labor. My father and uncle prided themselves on their skills at debate and their ability to articulate a coherent vision for our country. VP Harris is scared to debate and can’t survive an unscripted interview. Instead of outlining a vision, she relies on middleschool tactics – memes, forged headlines, infantile slogans (Joy!) and name calling (“Republicans are weird.“) I’ve spent years battling government corruption and lies. VP Harris spent years gaslighting Americans about the health of our Commander in Chief. I have no plans to endorse Kamala Harris for President. I do have a plan to defeat her.
